Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for the Sibanye-Stillwater Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Residency: Must reside within local communities and labor sending areas of Operating Segment Platinum Rustenburg.
  2. Education: Completed Matric (Grade 12) with the following achievements:
    • University acceptance pass in Matric with a minimum APS of 23.
    • Minimum 60% pass mark for English, Mathematics, and Physical Science in Matric.
  3. Field of Study: Pursuing or accepted to study in one of the preferred fields:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Geology
    • Instrumentation Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Metallurgy Engineering
    • Mining Engineering
    • Mining Survey
    • Rock Engineering
  4. University Enrollment: Registered or accepted at specific tertiary institutions: University of Johannesburg (UJ), University of the Witwatersrand (WITS), University of Pretoria (UP), North-West University (NWU).
  5. Medical Fitness: Candidates must undergo a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Care Centre and be declared medically fit for the position and environment.
